Welcome to My Studio

Where do I begin?
I love my little studio space. It’s a happy place for me. In need of a fresh coat of off-white paint.. haha!

When I first began my Newborn Photography journey, I traveled. My mom and my oldest daughter were my assistants. We loaded up the back of my car with fabrics, buckets, the beanbag poser, and everything else I needed to make the magic happen. Man, that was a process. Load the car, arrive at the client’s house and unload, set up, tear down, load the car, get home and unload then put it all away. My lovely assistants were also my background stands- holding up backdrops for me. HA! I am not sure how we survived those days. Good thing I had amazing help! Yes, there’s the shout out to my Mah and Bree. When my husband and I were looking into moving, this house had the perfect space available for a studio. It was beyond exciting for me.

I started small in my new studio with a 4x4 piece of plywood (exactly what the vacuum is sitting on in the photo). I remember making dads squish in to fit in the space and then doing A LOT of photoshop to extend and fix backgrounds. I don’t think I have any pull-back photos of that set up, but if I find some, I’ll update. from there it was a full piece of plywood. Finally, my husband and I sat down to figure out a better set up and he built a stage area for me. He also hung the backdrop system. My set up is so much nicer than how it started. I still need paint though lol! I love progress.

Back then, all my wraps, hats, furs, fluff and outfits were stuffed in fancy boxes and baskets. Today they are displayed so the creativity can flow. Although, all my chairs are stuffed in a closet. I just don’t have room to display that madness. I may…… or may not, have a small chair addiction that I will never admit to.

While my wrap collection continues to grow, it currently has different shades and textures, with a few patterns thrown in to mix it up.

I am sure eventually I will outgrown this space as well. But for now, I’ll continue to enjoy it and work hard on my organization skills.

I am excited to welcome you and your newest bundle into my studio. If you’re new here, you can see the rest of my site here at GMR Photography .
